Well here it goes....My first challenge entry...Thank you Ashton...If nothing else I was able to get rid of some excess baggage and also find a couple long lost items.For whatever reason a cigar store matchbox caught my attention

I liked the composition on these John. I liked 'sideview' a little more because the lighting was more even.

I agree that the first shot is the best. I do like the one orange tipped match being the odd one out...kind of like me.

Love the the set-up in both and great job with the DOF. I like the comp, but in both there's just a smidge of dead space. On the left in the first, and on top in the second. Not a big deal, just thought I would point it out. Great job with the challenge.

WOW!! Thanks MsJ,and everyone else for your votes and helpful and kind remarks.I must say I've enjoyed this site for quite some time before participating and really appreciate the efforts of all who make this site what it is.You've really kindled a desire to learn about the many aspects of photography,which is something I've enjoyed as a hobby for a while now.Oh,and the orange match was just one I was using when setting up the shot.I was going to replace it then thought it looked ok so left it.Figured maybe it would get people wondering lol.Wish I could come up with some deep purpose but that's it.
