    Well Chef, don't really understand what you are trying to say in these two pictures but am going with your title...the message in first one to me is--am in a dark/desolute place so far gone am wondering if there is any brightness to be seen anywhere and if the monster is going to leap up from the waters.. Then in the second one things have improved in life--can see the light/good things around me so am not going to let the darkness get this old mad man down...no sirreeeeeeeee....

    I think I am going to have to go with the first one. It reminds me of an old shot and I like the grain. It works well for the pic.

    I was thinking where are the tipis, the people and the horses! Looks like where my people would set up winter camp, in 1800. Beautiful image. #2 Reminds me of a peat bog really pretty.
