The Unexpected ....

As this shot was taken in the middle of the Mojave Desert ... I guess I was so worried about seeing snakes ... I didn't see this little guy creep into my shot ... Mojave Desert Beavertail Macro ...

Your comments are always welcome ... thank you for looking!!

Great color...When shooting macros.."we" become so focus on the shot,we hardly look at the entire frame...happens all the time to me!

Beautiful colors and nice detail on the pollinator as well. One of the best things I like about digital cameras is the ability to set it on burst mode and click off 3 or 4 or more shots closer, further, different angles, etc. As nice as the photo is I think slightly different angles, distances, etc. would have resulted in a much better shot, but we (I) could all do better with more foresight than hindsight - Myself especially.

wanzewurld ... thank you for your comments... you are absolutely right about the versatility of today’s digital cameras ... I know that I don't nearly use all of the features that are available ... I do have several other shots of this flower at other angles that were not as nice as this ... the problems with this shot were ... (1) I was in the middle of the desert ... (2) the wind had started to blow ... (3) the camera was on a tripod that was difficult to move around ... (4)then there were those darn snakes that I just knew were behind every bush ... I took the liberty to read your profile and am excited for you and your new found vision ... best of luck with those new contacts!! ... now get that new Canon camera out and start shooting!!
