I've been in meetings since I got to Vegas yesterday, but I had a chance to go out and do some nightseeing today. I don't have much experience with night photography, but I'm learning....

The Riviera is my home for the next week.

Just down the street from me is The Wynn. The building kinda looks like a giant PS3.

And just a little farther down the strip is the incredibly ornate Venetian where gondoliers wait for romance-seeking tourists.

Still at the Venetian Gondola Pool, I tried a zoom trick by zooming out as I took the shot.

Sitting at the Venetian entrance was this Hummer limo.

The highlight of my evening was catching Cirque du Soliel's "Love" show at the Mirage. Unfortunately, cameras weren't allowed in the theatre.

I like your zoom trick...and the perspective of the Wymn... Glad you were able to see some night light--and not have to be in meetings 'all the time'

You did great with the night shots. I like Wynn and the zoom shots. The hummer shot is neat, it looks like ghosts standing behind it. Good job. :o)

Awesome! I love Vegas - you did a great job capturing the light! I like the Venetian shots best, and the Wynn (did you see the Ferrari's yet? It's worth the admission...)I look forward to seeing more!

Kitzi - The zoom trick is pretty simple...In the shot I posted, I used a very slow exposure (somewhere in the area of 5 - 8 seconds) and a tripod. Immediately after clicking the shutter, I just zoomed out, trying to be as carful as possible not to jiggle the tripod. You could probably do this in any lighting situation and just use a slower shutter speed than you would ordinarily use, but I don't really know....This was the first time I've ever tried he zoom trick! codepoit - you will not regret buying tickets to Love. It's spectacular. margarita - I did spend a bit of time drooling over the Ferarris and Maseratis in the Penske-Wynn shop, ut only through the window. Thanks to all for the comments.
