    These are nice.

I am not offended by the bible, but if anyone is, they should just ignore this story instead of starting a kerfluffle.

Very nice word to use -  kerfuffle - Early 19th cent.: probably from Scots curfuffle < fuffle or related to Irish cior thual (confusion , disorder ).

    Thank you!!!

Not a very religious person myself but your images and the words from the bible work well together. well done. ;)

Your first image with the running stream of water and the flowers is my fave.;)

kevin, interesting that you knew that definition right off the top of your head. ;-)

kerfluffle - I might have to use that word at work tomorrow. Thanks, DrZ.

I also take no offense and find the words appropriate to the photos. This being a photo site, though, I think I will only critique the photos and leave the quotes to others.

1 - nice shot of the comparison between rock and flower and I like the color you've found in the rocks. This is the color I was talking about the other day that was missing from the Cathedral Rock picture. It's nicely done. California poppies?

2 - gorgeous place and the clouds add a lot to it. Wasn't this an HDR?

3 - interesting shot and a beautiful effect, but it feels like we've strayed too far from reality here. It'd be nice to see a before shot of this thing.

4 - it goes well with the quote, but by itself the picture doesn't have much impact for me. We had a cloud here last week, so I'm over clouds now. ;-)

Kevin, the name on the flowers is a guess, but I think they're poppies. I'm sure it's there somewhere, but I don't see the silhouette, sorry. Anyway, nice job.

Nice match of photos to those scripture verses . . . nature and God's Word . . . pretty much inseparable to me.  Thanks.

  • On whether the words work or not, depends on the purpose of the photos. If you are making a card or cards to give hope and joy to love ones or friends, than the combinations of photo content and words are great. I make my own cards to send to my Mother who is in a nursing home.

But if the content in the photo is the main purpose, than the words interfere with the eyes movement through the photo. When I look at a nature shot I like my eye just to travel through the colors and shapes, just to get lost in the shot. Words stop that travel.

Nice shot on the columbine in shot 3.

In shot 4, I like the shapes of the dark against the light clouds on the left. But maybe there should be less dark area, to give a better composition (?).

    Nice work!

I am not offended by the content of your post ... what I am offended by is that you chose to offend even though you knew you might...

    - Yep.... I can do that....

Thank you for the comments, surferguy all I can say is no one forced you to click on the pictures as you where given ample warning that there was something that you might not agree with. I respect your right to your opinion.

Well I like the photo's and your choice of verse.  I do have a problem with your placement and font though.  They take away from the photo not add to it.  I am aware it can be a challenge to pick what will work and how to place it.  But you could change it up a bit.  One example would be the single flower, with the blur in the background you need a flat sharp font for it to be clear text.  Also, when using font and color, less is more.

As for the flowers, they are not California poppies, although I dont remember the exact name.  It is something with paper....... in it and they are derived from a chinese poppy.

Religious or not, the photos are nice. I really like the first and the last ones. As for being offensive, nothing can offend you, if you don't let it.
