Paul, I've heard of Helen, but never been there. Obviously, it's up in the mountains. Anywhere near Dahlonega? I like your second shot a lot, although the water on the left may be just a tad overexposed. I would crop out the sky on this sort of like the thumb. The light on the trees is great, but the sky itself is too much light.

As the crow flies, its very close to Dalonega, but if you drive, it's 30 to 40 minutes. It's an old German town that is just across the mountain from Hawasi (spelled wrong) which is north of there. Great golf courses, festivals, gold mining, and all around family fun. The gold in that area is the purest in the world and for a few dollars, they will let you mine it in a variety of different ways. I still have gold from the last trip. It is around 23kt straight out of the ground. Helen has Octoberfest (in October) rafting, crafting, tubing and just all around affordable family fun. The shots are from a state park, the name escapes me, but the people and the experience are great. Southern hospitality at it's best. Thanks for the comments on cropping.

I really love the 1st photo, it's exactly the type of place I like spending time in (minus any crowds). The 2nd shot is great too but, like Dub said (kind of), if the sky were cropped it would be even better. I have had MANY shots where it would have been beautiful if I just got the exposure right.  One day I'll get it!

With all the waterfalls and greenery it looks like a place that I wouldn't tire of looking at photos of.

Beautiful park - I like the first one better, I think, the second one I think there is a person on the left in red (?) enough to distract but not enough to see?  Still a lovely setting.

Beautiful area. I like the first the best-looks cool and refreshing.  Would'nt mind getting into the water with our 95+ degree weather we're having.

Very beautiful spot.  So saturated and lovely.  I can feel the cool air and the moisture in it now.  Very, very nice.
