elkpark1 ~ getting up close to their subject!
 elkpark2 ~ the big guy
elkpark3 ~ getting the itchy spot
elkpark4 ~ this guy stood and let us take lots of photos, he wasn't  scared at all, even when LeeAnn got out of the car.  I could almost touch him from the car, he was that close.

Thanks for looking!  Have a nice night!  :o)

Smokin'! Nice shots, beautiful animals. But, I would not get overly close, they are wild.

Great job Robin!! ... Have you gotten that new 50D off automatic yet? ... They are all great shots and you do have that "photographic eye" ... But just a couple of thoughts … they all could use just a touch of saturation and then there is that tree coming out of that last guy’s head ... By the way the saturation on this guy is near perfect ... All are great images … You go girl!!

These turned out awesome, that elk was so impressive but he did make me a bit nervous, the velvet buck wasn't so intimidating and the opportunity to get so close was amazing. Thank you again for the tour of one of your favorite spots!

Thanks!  Paulamouse I kept watch while they shot the big guy, and we were in the car with the buck, well LeeAnn did get out behind the car.  I know they are wild and I have had the female elk charge the car and it scared the you know what out of me. PTL, you can come up any time and I will take you there and anyone who wants to come to the St. Louis area!  :o)

Stan glad to see you popping in!  Thanks for the comments, I do mess with the saturation some, I always worry I might do too much.  I know the buck wasn't standing in the best place, I did move forward to get him out of the shadow of the vehicle.  And yes the camera was on auto most of the time.....  lol   Thanks again everyone!  :o)

robin, great place and great shots of some really nice animals. I especially like the elk shot. What a magnificent hat rack he would make. Looks like you had a lot of fun.
