Atlantic shoreline just before rain --> Shoreline View
And now for some comments -- this was taken with a Sony point-and-shoot on a very dark day. Every time I try to lighten the photo it gets grainy. Any suggestions?
I love it. It looks so dark and looming.
- It must be a full moon.

what quality setting do you have your camera set... set it on the best setting possible ... you wont be able to take as many pic but you ll be able to do more with the image without deterioration....
I believe you have a cloudy setting on that camera... try that...
- Yep.... I can do that....

Nicely shot intense sky. Being that dark, if you have an auto-asa feature it's probably cranked up pretty high, which may also contribute to your grain. More likely would be the resolution thing, as SG says.
Oddly enough, we seldom see scenes like this in Tucson.
dunno if i'd change it. i like it fine. but, do experiment with the settings on the camera. imagine the possibilities!

Yep I agree with dee.....It is very eerie and what we coastal folk see everytime those darn hurricanes decide to head our direction. Hopefully everyone weathered it well. All ya'll are in our prayers!!!

I like the darkness, fits the feeling of the shot! :o)
I love it. For me I would leave it alone

The feel of the shot is great.
I really like it how it is. The colors are sooo vivid :) If it was lighter, I think the mood would be ruined.

I kind of like it the way it is (for the moody reasons others said) but I just took a look at the image's histogram and you have an almost perfect dynamic range with just a little excess white and a little excess black. Which means that if you try to lighten it overall you will blow out your whites. You could use the "Levels" setting in your photo editor and move the midtones pointer a little to the left to lighten the midtones without effecting the whites and blacks. I think, after I did that, that I like it better just a touch lighter. I really like the way you composed all the elements. Nice job.
Looks good the way it is. Wonderful shot.
- Quack! Quack!
