I was trying to find a place called Dingbatter’s Seafood in Lowland, NC hoping to get some local oysters for later in the evening, but the road to the docks was impassable (for me, anyway). We saw this old barn on our way back out.

Very nice shot.  But are you sure it's a barn and not a boat house?

Love the colors... did you do some kind of effect in post work (if so, I love the subtlty of it.  It's complimentary but not overpowering)

Two of my favorite things - reflections in water and old barns. Nicely done.

Thanks. guys. I worked as subtly as I could in a piece of NikSoftware that behaves like a filter in PhotoShop and Elements only you have so much control over the end result that it's mind blowing. I think it works in Lightroom, too. I can't recommend Color Efex Pro highly enough. It and the companion Silver Efex Pro can make even my work look presentable. That's saying a lot for any piece of software.

Funny you should mention high tide, Fabulos. We stopped for directions to Dingbatter's and as a salty old gent came walking up to the truck, I told Mare to listen carefully to his accent as I was sure he was a "Hoi Toider " . He didn't disappoint me and even mentioned that we may have trouble getting there because of the "hoi toide".

Mare was rolling with laughter as we thanked him and drove away.
