Meeting on the Other Side
There are eight trees on the top of the bald knob. You can see it a long ways away from all directions. The story goes from the old timers around here that a man who used to own this place was buried on top the hill under these trees. Every day his dog would go and sit on his grave and grieve for his master. When the dog finally died, they buried him next to the man. Reunited at last on the other side. I give you..... You did a fantastic job using the HDR.. the rays of the sun laying on the bottom of the clouds like spot light from God saying..."look at my wonder". Such deep colors. Great photo.

I will have to tell you the backstory on this shot. I got up early, made the coffee, looked outside, it was dark and cloudy, looked totally dreary. I sat down at the computer, pulled back the curtain and the sky had turned PURPLE.... I knew something special was happening. Grabbed the camera backpack and off to the car. The vantage point for this place is about 3 minutes from my house. By the time I got there, the sun was coming up, but the colors were all ready starting to fade to my eye. Didn't even set up the tripod, just balanced the camera on a barb wire fence and started firing. So when I got home and downloaded these shots and starting putting them together, I was really pleasantly surprised. The light was all still there and the HDR process finds all available light, even though my eye couldn't see it at the time. So you never know when a dark morning might have a golden lining!
