My family and I went on a road trip to Goliad, Tx one day which isn't that far away...

We came around this hill and sitting on top was this reconstructed (but you couldn't tell)  mission1

It was really interesting.  Here is the link to the information about it...http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/GG/gkgfk.html

There are these holes in the fort walls and my boys just thought they were so cool... looking in

This one really grabbed me.... thru the hole

Some holes were round and the others were square, I think they use to have the round hole but with time they collapsed...I really like this shot too... the steeples

I hope you enjoy these shots and by the way it was a very overcasted day...wish the sky would have been better.

Let me know what you think. Thanks for the comments and critiques as always!

brandee - you already mentioned my main problem with these - an overcast day that sucked the color right out of everything. Still, I like the unique framing and especially liked the one with the boy peeking through.

I think the last two shots have a very interesting perspective.

I like how you took the photos of the holes focusing on the flags.  Looks like a nice place to take lots of photos.  Love the old rock building.  :o)

I love old forts.  You had some great perspectives.  Really liked the steeples textures.

Overcast sky sometimes does not give us the effect in our photos that we would like to see, just can't be helped.  Agree with the others about your framing--good job.

This would be an interesting place to see--am not familar with TX--is the place near El Paso (I am going to be in El Paso next summer).

Oh goodness no...Not anywhere near El Paso for sure.  Goliad is by Corpus Christi (sort of) but since you're not from here then Corpus is a good reference point. Have a good visit in El Paso, I have only driven through it...not sure what's there but Texas is full of historical places like this one so do some research and see what interesting places you can go and see.
