I haven't been able to get out with the camera yet so am posting an older one. This guy is one of our "little" deer in the backyard.
Well gd ... I likey your photo. I like the way the path or clear area leads our eye to the deer. He seems to be quite contented. Is he a pet? He sure has a nice rack on him. We have about 6 or seven does that feed in our yard but we never see the buck.

Nice buck!! I was going to ask how you got that perspective. Beautiful colors and lighting!
Nice Mule deer in a beautiful setting!

A sight to behold!... What I would give for such a fine beast to be relaxing in my back garden! Great image..

Dune and Martyn, I wouldn't say they were our pets as I think they think we are theirs. The wildlife around here just kind of tolerate up living on THEIR land as long as we provide shade, ornamental plants for food, water, and a place to get together for Saturday night parties. I posted this before but every fall (hunting season) the boys tend to get together in our yard in town (can't hunt in town); and my wife asks if deer are smart!
Penny, they were taken from our deck, same as "the boys" and one of tomorrows.
Thanks for the kind comments.

It is great to be able to see wildlife up close, am wondering if 'the boys' do much damage to your flowers/yardwork; evidently they all know where to go when things start a certain season begins. I like the fall foliage colors surrounding the deer.
Great shot George, I remember 'the boys' shot and thinking that you were so lucky to have them in your yard and so comfortable to be there! As long as they don't do any damage : )

Nice shot. I also remember the boys. So lucky to have them in your backyard.

I remember the boys, also. What a great opportunity and sight! Love the colors in the first and the deer makes the picture. :o)
Oh yeah Bee. They eat some of the plants, rub their antlers on the young tree trunks, but they were here first. Right now we also have 4 raccoons, a skunk, 3 marmots, a fox, and 4 outside cats that are at home in the yard. They all get along pretty well; one big happy family that eat, scratch, climb, have babies, play up a storm with all sorts of damage in their wake. But they are funny.
Gee, your own private zoo.
