Ice Anglers

Our city (Cadillac, MI) is on the east shoreline of Lake Cadillac. In the winter hard water anglers brave the elements to bring in a tasty meal. The lake contains Northern Pike, Walleyes, Perch, Bluegills, Crappie, etc. Up until a couple years ago it was one of my favorite winter past-times.

mac - in the second one that poor person appears to have been robbed of his outhouse. Both of these look really, really cold. We're supposed to get down in the 20s here tonight, but I'm thinking the Gulf probably won't be freezing over.

Dub - It's 8 deg. up here at this moment. Got about 5" of new snow today. Will be firing up the snowblower in the morning.

The way the ice is in the first picture, it looks like they're walking on water, well, technically, I guess they are.
Those white line, picture 2, foreground, snowmobile trails?

Too cold for me; strictly a fair weather fisherman here. That first one looks like a vintage photo - nicely done.

Mack, I can remember fishing in the dead of winter for striped bass but we did it from a pier. It was so cold I can remeber chipping ice out of the guides of the fishing rod with the hook on my lure to keep the line moving when we cast.Don't think I could brave the elements like that anymore.

I did ice fishing in Duluth, MN and on Lake Champlain in VT. Always alot of fun, but always used a shanty. Loved your shots and brought back some memories.
