Repurposed on purpose...or...Trash into Treasure
when the grandkids come to the farm for summer vacation, gramma, has to load up on the crafts to keep them occupied.
recycling trash into "works of art" is always a big hit with them.
here's a couple of the things we've done recently.
we made these plastic coffee canisters into spinners for the squirrel maze. the kids painted, wrapped and gifted their creations to their moms who didn't "get" to come to the farm for summer vacation. thanks, daughters! maybe next time!
we grew, dried and carved some birdhouse gourds and used them for bird seed holders and birdnests out in the yard. again, the fancy painted ones went home with the budding artists.
...remind me i need more paint, and ...cleaning supplies that remove paint....
we've even got a "crazy tree" that we hang our found treasures on. they are always finding something worthy of hanging there.
and, then there's the piano.
we rescued it from the curb where someone had put it, along with a "free-take it" sign, ...so, naturally, we did.
well, my hubby fixed it up and it plays ok....but, since no one plays the piano here at the farm, it sits mostly unused in the barn,
...and, it's so much more convienent than having to go out to the actual henhouse to collect the eggs.
