Cambodia Trip - Part 2 - Phnom Penh Genocide Museum

More images from the Genocide Museum. There are 4 blocks in all, A, B, C and D. Each are 3 levels high. In one of the blocks there are hundreds of photos of victims. The Khmer Rouge, like the Nazi's kept photographic and documentary records of all people imprisoned. Unfortunately, a lot of the documents were destroyed when they fled the prison and many of the victims photographs remain unidentified.

daz - it's horrifying the things that people are capable of doing to each other, but this reminds me of a quote from George Santayana that was posted in about 8 languages at the exit of the concentration camp at Dachau outside Munich. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Dub, I believe there are those who choose not to believe---that something like this did not happen--I do not understand why it is not believable.
Thank you, daz, for sharing and the story to go with the photos...the last one of the victims is heartbreaking thinking of what they had to endure to the end....

More great documentation of such a horrible place and time. How anyone could turn a blind eye to anything like this is beyond me.
