Just one tonight - I worked on composition and color as well as my macro shot. Little purple
Pretty pink/purple, looks more pink to me.
Back lit? Looks like the sun is burning out the edges of the flower. I've placed my hand near a flower, casting a shadow on the subject (thus leaving the background bright). Helps bring out the colors, sometimes.

beautiful flower, but, the color is a little washed out. i've never gotten a really great shot of any purple colored flower. why is that, i wonder, that the camera never seems to capture and do that particular color justice?
what flower is that, ...a morning glory?

It is in a hanging basket and I think it is in the petunia family. Yes, I have trouble with the sun - light is a problem... I try to shoot in the morning or in the evening, but I only can use one hand so your suggestion does not help too much even when I use the tripod. I took another picture today - it was an overcast day - we will see if I did better.
I like the fuzzy softness of the leaves just right of the bloom...and the bloom looks a little washed out to me also--I can see that it is purple.....as dee asked--why can't the camera catch flower colors the way we see them with out eye......surely it must have something to do with the settings we use.......
I agree on the color, but I do like the way the sun catches the fuzzy stems to the right. You might try putting the camera on a tripod and using something for shade as the duck suggests. And Dee - sometimes stopping down the exposure helps bring up the color with purple, red or yellow things in full light.
Looks purple to me! Pretty flower, and very nice photo, looks a little too bright to me though.
