A whirlwind tour took me to many places but one in particular wasPopup LinkStone Mountain Georgia where I found out who my true friends are. Climbing this mountain because the cable car was out of service was quite a challenge for me. Finding that I could no longer tackle the climb because of the steepness and slipperiness of the stone I had to give up but my sister and friend continued on their climb with not a bit of consideration to my plight. APopup LinkTRUE friendcame along at this time and ENCOURAGED me to continue AND with her support I made it to the top of the mountain to meet up with my  Popup Linkso-so friends ONLY to find that the cable car had been in operation the entire day.
My travels have always been great and fun but it is always nice to come home and work to start saving for my next vacation.
It is also fun to see where life leads us. My eldest who hated traveling has been to Russia and New Zealand. My youngest, the caring one for children gave me my first and only so far Grandson. My husband continues to plan our yearly Vegas vacation and I am here at Photographica looking for the same kind of guidance I sought at Stone Mountain.
I am the fourth girl of five children born to Frank and Helen. I married my husband in 1970.
I have been called Frannie, Frances, Fran, Mrs.B., Aunt Franny, Grandma during my life but I thought at this stage (keep in mind the word stage has the word age in it) maybe I'm not famous but I too can sport a fancy name. SomeDAY if I get the film loaded properly into my camera my name will be as easily recognized as Oprah, Tina, Maddonna or Jewel's are.
My name if FranCes. Glad to meet you!
The above and previous posts where from my Toastmasters Ice Breaker speech.

Love these FranCes, the 911 tribute had great color. I'm envious of you and being able to go on many trips. I have ALWAYS longed to see the east coast, Nantucket, New england area. Where were the Lake Michigan dune pics taken? WI or MI, because here in MI we have the Silver Lake sand dunes and they are awesome, we also have the Sleeping Bear Dunes which are even better. That bridge looked a little scary to me, not sure if I'd cross it....LOL

like the garden shot with all the colors--and the bridge--would have taken extry thought on that as whether to cross it. Glad you make it to the top--and continue your travels if possible.

Since I'm not very good at recording where I have been with my pic's all I can gather from the info I have is National Lakeshore, Michigan, Lake Michigan Overlook and or Sleeping Bear Dunes it is 450 ft. above the lake on a 35 degree angle...you need to be very healthy to climb this! Oh, I spelt Hoe wrong it is HOH...but it was funny to us to Chef...and the loons...good control....but actully I was waiting for some funnies.

I would LOVE to see the Capilano Bridge! Kody--Dennis--if I come over, wanna go, next summer? FranCes, wonderful shots--what a great variety of experience. Very enjoyable! Can't decide which one I like the most--though the Arlington soldier is right up there. Great portrait!

Frances... your pic on 9-11 stirred me.. and arlington evoked much emotion as well. and on a lighter note.. dunes just made me laugh. quite a diverse group of photos... and i did find 3 of you ladies in front of a sign that said 3 tomatos was ironic (made me think of fried green tomatos)
