    Sorry.  As much as I would want to donate or subscribe, I can't.  Being as old as I am, I could probably get the money no problem, but I do a tough labour job for less than minimum wage, and I really just can't donate right now.  However, I would like to thank coryking for still allowing users to use the site free.  That was very considerate.

    I will be adding two new payment methods fairly soon as I dont really trust paypal either.  It will take about a month to get a real credit card processing account set up.

    And yes, when you don't subscribe you will never get any mystery features.  Sorry :-(

    Can I ask why some people are leary of PayPal?
    I have used them 5-10 times in the last 1.5 yrs and had no problems. Are others experiencing some that I should know about?

    The real mystery here is.....Where do we send checks?

    Do you realize?? We have gained four new registered users since I signed in this morning. From 5280 to 5284 in about 7 hours. Is this typical? Has anyone ever logged registered users by the day, week, month or whatever? I'm a new kid here - registered in April or May of this year - and it seems like there were under 4000 at that time.

    I'll sign up too, when you get things settled as to what and how much. I like the choice of annual or monthly rate too. I haven't had any probs with paypal either.

    But folks, you can pay for a year. Just enter "12" in the months field. That's what I did! And...I've used PayPal for years now with nary a problem...though I understand others don't like it.

    Twice I have used PayPal to make ebay purchases and twice my bank account info has been stolen and used. Never again will I trust paypal to safeguard my privacy. I don't know exactly how the thieves did it, but both times it was the day after I used paypal.

    Definitely! NEVER respond to an email or click on a link from PayPal or eBay...more than likely, they ain't legit. If you get a notice of something, trash the email, then check out the site as you usually do...there will be messages waiting for you if there's a real problem. NEVER respond to their email!

    Signed up for a year myself.
    Even though I just found out about
    photographica.org about 45 days ago I've become totally adicited and love the communal atmosphere around here - I hope that never changes.

      Have never used paypal, but know a few who have--some good reports and some bad.

    I used Pay Pal once and since have received at least 25 requests for my bank and credit card information.  I'm sure the requests are scams, and not from Pay Pal, but I didn't get them until I used Pay Pal.  My assumption is that somebody has access to their transaction data.

    yep. Most folks that use eBay use PayPal...so it's safe to assume for harvesters that the names they get off of eBay have a PayPal account...Evil!

    So far I've used PayPal about a dozen times and had no problems. I've had one or two phishing attempts using PayPal logo but I always go to PayPal directly myself to check it out. I've had more phishing attempts using bank logos for banks I have no relationship with. Ebay says now that if you get something from them about account info you will also find a copy in your mailbox at Ebay so you will know whether it's legit or not.

    I think this thread is being ignored, Steven...anyway, I could be wrong but I believe if you click that PayPal link, the resulting page gives you the option to pay via CC without using PayPal...
