Someone Elses Childhood Treasures

My cousins Grandma (other side of the family)started a Popup Linkcollection of  Popup Linkbuttons when she was little.  When she passed away years ago.  (I think in her 80's) She had  Popup Linkmany, many containers and five gallon buckets full of Popup Linkbuttons.  I was happy when my cousin told me she got some for me.  I think several of you out there remember a button Popup Linkbox that maybe your Grandma had.  So many colors, textures, shapes and sizes. She even had old mattress buttons.  My favorite ones were from what we think was maybe a old Baptismal dress.   I hope Popup Linkthese brought back some memories.

I have my Grandma's sewing stuff and there are buttons (the old pearl ones) in it. Very cool shots Penny!

This story reminds me of my Mother's button collection. As a child it was one of my favorite things to play with. I wonder what happened to it. Nice shots, very abstract and yet tangible.

Cute Chef! Love the B&W buttons Penny. My grandmother had a button box too and I've wondered for years what happened to it.

Brings back many memories for me. My Grandmother had 2 button boxes( which were really tins) and when she passed away I got them and kept them in a drawer, hidden away....About 5 yrs ago I started a rolling pin collection and ended up with some glass pins from the 20's and 30's......as you can guess I filled those with the buttons and they are on my kitchen wall along with all the others and one filled with marbles! You've shot some lovely pictures and many memories! Thanks

Penny, Thanks you brought back a funny memory for me. When we were kids my Mom stored all of her button in a metal tin.One day my Brother and I were teasing my sister and the tin was there in front of her and she started pelting us with Hands full of Buttons. Man they hurt. We never stopped kidding her about that till the day she passed away. Thanks for the Memory

Good story. Unlike some, I think something is lost with the B&Ws. The colored shots are better, IMO.
