This Is My First Post

Hi everyone, I have been watching this website for a while now and I decided I should share some of my pictures.  I am new to this whole photography thing so any input or advice would be appreciated.  Here are a couple photos I took recently that I thought turned out okay.

    Welcome! The profile of your dog is beautiful, the iris is cut off just a bit too much for my taste, but the color & droplets of water are fantastic!

    Welcome to the site! You did great on your first post! The dog shot is composed very well; you got down on the dog's level, which is very important in a lot of shots. Love the color of the iris!

    These were both good pictures, although I actually preferred the Iris picture even if it was cropped a little close. While the dog picture was good, I would have liked to have seen the dog fill the frame a little more to block out the chain link fence in the background. Very nice first post overall.

    Welcome, hope you have fun. I think the capture of the water dropplets on the iris was very nice and agree with what the others have already said about the cropping of your doggie pic.
