Little Ride in the Big Woods

If you've read any of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books you've probably heard of the Big Woods that used to cover a big chunk of Minnesota and Wisconsin (Little House in the Big Woods). There are still some remnants of the Big Woods in Minnesota.  Yesterday I went for a Popup Linkbike ride on the Luce Line.  I stopped a few times to Popup Linkhike back into the Big Woods. The Popup Linkleaves form a canopy so that hardly anything grows on the forest floor.  There are some Popup Linkbeautiful large trees in the Big Woods.

This last shot is just a Popup Linkbonus shot of Anna taken during one of our dinners eaten outside.

    I loved those books in elementary school... and I also loved the first shot here. Canopy looked like it could have been a painting. Love how the other woman evens out the dead space in anna :)

    Even the action shot looks peaceful. The canopy of leaves with that translucent look was my favorite - also enjoyed seeing Anna.

    like the bike ride, can imagine riding along with the person and enjoying the scenery.and the side trip into to the woods, very relaxing.

    Shootin on the bike and the leaves were great! Loved the motion in the bike shot!! Hard to capture the beauty and depth of trees in the woods. Nice Tom!

    Liked them all, Tom, but my favorite was the last the "beautiful large trees" no real reason just connected with it more and liked the composition.
