These are nice shots and I love the cleft in his chin. Our newspaper used to do one of these contests every year and, in the way of advice (take it or leave it), the photos that we picked as winners were solidly in focus, tightly cropped and charming. An unusual twist is good because they get beaucoups shots like this but don't go down the seriously cheesy road. (In other words, avoid the bearskin rugs and angel wings!) A good shot of him being the kid he is will be great.

    - blow.....hard

Ok, with a tighter crop, my favorite would be 'are we finished yet' - that's honest emotion for ya!

  • ROCKADEE
Very Nice, Robert...The Second And Third Pics Are My Favorites...Nice Job!

    - NATURE RULES!!!

Lovely child - I like the third and fourth shots also, but would crop them closer.

    - Flowers are happiness...

I love the expression on his face in Are We Finished Yet. :)

the first one shows more depth in the childs eyes but the last one is good also

#2, are my faves. i'm in a B/W state of mind. for your contest i'd use the first color shot. most don't appreciate a good B/W photo

  • Anonymous Hero
what lens did you use? good job

  • Damiker
Kids, like many of us,are reluctant targets.I find the best shot is a candid one.I focus at something that is at the correct distance(lamp, tree ,someone else) drop the camera(not on the ground!)When you do wheel and fire, focus is close, light is right, and they never see it coming.I agree a close crop is a good crop!

  • jessa
color, definitely. brings out his eye color a lot more... you'll have that in the bag!

  • stormy
What a cute boy. I love the last one.

  • MRQUACKERS
Like the first shot - for home photo, not sure for contests.

    - A quack with an camera

1&3 are my picks! Great shootin'

  • BusyB1965
