I'm back in Murf and it's cold again (had gotten into the 60s and 70s this weekend). I thought it might be reasonable to show my first attempt at ice macros. A couple of weeks ago it got really cold in alabama, lows hitting around 12 and 14. One afternoon after work, I wandered outside hoping to catch a beautiful sunset but with no such luck. It was mediocre at best and instead I turned my attention to our little garden pond. It had a thin sheet of ice on top of it and plenty of leaves frozen below the surface. With the fading light, I used my on-camera flash adjusting the output to a desirable lighting condition and these are what I got.

Most of them I didn't care for. I couldn't get a composition I liked, or the flash reflection was just too darn bright, but I think these two were ok.
Let me know what you think. Tomorrow... more ice, but in a different vision.
