It's a Zoo .....

We went to the Brevard Zoo last week. We'd never been there before and didn't know what to expect.  It's a small zoo but really nice, and we had a great time.  Guess what we saw most of ?  BIRDS!!  But such unusual ones, I had to share...

We were greeted by a welcoming committee:
 Line up

These two were posing for visitors:
Pretty in Pink

Had to wait for this Pin Tail to cross.  He was all the way from the Bahamas
Just Coasting

This beauty told us the way to go
 Majestic

At the Aviary a real cutie ushered us in
Follow me, please....

So far, we had been on our own, but once inside, Lee got an assistant
Looks OK on this end!

There were some animals, too.  They'll be next.  We're still sorting through about 1,200 pictures.  (Don't ya love digital?)  Hope you enjoyed our day.

Line up is tranquil, and I love the thumbnail's composition and color.

    - Flowers are happiness...

They were all EXCELLENT shots, but I loved the last one best! How funny!

    - Enjoy the journey....

No way would I let that bird on my lens. They can be sooooo distructive and if given the chance they will chew anything up they can. Thier beaks are so strong!! I really like just coasting it is a beautiful shot. I like Majestic but it is a little soft. Now that bird would destroy that lens. They have 300 lbs of pressure behind thier beaks.

LOL Penny. Actually, Lee didn't realize the bird was there. He was so intent on another bird and the camera was on a monopod, so he didn't notice the extra weight. I just had to get the shot before chasing her away. She followed him the whole time we were in there, a real pest. And yes, you're right, they are destructive.... but fun.

Now that this place seems to be taking comments, I will offer mine. They meet with your usual good quality, I was going to say also that you have to look out for the destruction that comes out of the back end too. I thought the first one could be a little lighter and have to agree with Penny on Majestic as far as the technical end goes, story is good and the pics lend to the story very well.

    - say it with photos

Beautiful, colorful birds! Majestic is an awesome capture; great detail in that shot! Lol @ the last pic! I was thinking how worried I would've been about it pooping on the lens!

Coasting has a wonderful "feel" to it...a little soft and gentle. Line-up is good but I would like to see the whole reflection. Follow me is great because of your title...very funny...Majestic is fantastic..and everything has been said about the last one....should be entered in a contest!
