After the rain

No 4x5s today.  I got them developed and printed, but they're drying.  Maybe tomorrow.

Instead, I bring you the sunset from tuesday.  It was a crazy day for weather this past Tuesday.  It rained all day long, into the night and at one point I thought my roof was going to be blown off.  But it stopped raining for a short while just in time for the sunset.  And the clouds were gracious enough to part slightly to show it.

I know I don't have a picture perfect scene from the balcony of my apartment, but I couldn't pass up these colors.

    Beautiful set.... partial to the first one, as the silhouette of the ground... "grounds" the photo for me...gives the eye more of a reference point to the scale I think....

    Thanks guys. I didn't even notice we were having a sunset until I parked my car at the apartment and looked up. At that point I made a point to run up the stairs and grab my D200. As for 'grounding,' bsv. I'm more partial to shots like that as well, but from my balcony it's just apartment roofs and a few bare trees. They don't make for good silhouettes, so I just stuck to trying to find some interesting forms in the clouds to show off the color.

    Looks to me that you balcony is the perfect place for these. Agree that 'grounding' is good, but for just amazing color, this was the perfect place to be.
