Macro lens with 20mm tube

There was mention over in the Photography Discussion forum on using extension tubes and macro lenses. I hadn't tried the tubes on my 100mm macro yet so I went out and played. Not the best shooting conditions with a breeze blowing but what the heck. All are at F 2.8 trying to keep a shallow DOF. I may have to try it with my 50mm F1.8 to cut it down even more. Results below

    don't know what tubes are even after reading about them...in these pictures I really like the Grape Macro...and for the wind to be blowing these would all be good for me..

    Tubes are really just a spacer that goes between the lens and the camera body. They come in different thicknesses to allow the lens to be closer to or further away from the body. By moving the lens out it basically acts like a zoom but will focus super close. The downside is you can not focus at infinity with a tube on but that's not what you're trying to do anyway.

    Those are some great Macros!! ... Wind or not you did a great job with each one!! ... I have been looking at getting a set to go with my 100mm macro lens ... your shots just might be the insperation that I need!! ... Great Set!!

    The nice thing is they aren't lens specific. Just mount specific. You can use them on any of your Canon mount lenses or the Nikon lenses buy them in the Nikon mount. I really like working with them on the 50mm 1.8.
