So, as I often try to do in life, I take life experience and attempt to learn and better myself from it. With that said I have taken all of the great advice offered to me, by the great folks on this site. I have shot this series both in color and with out my copyright frame... as always feedback is welcome....

    Great shot each one!  My only suggestion is to crop off some of the left side and the top.  It would give the shots more interest.  Rule of thirds. Also the last one I wish I could see the whole reflection.   Super lighting!!

    How do you achieve the black background?  Is that a photoshop technique or just the lights out?

    I like this entire set.  Simple and to the point, and the slight reflections set off the shots for me.  I could probably do with just a tad less negative space on the left and right on the first two, but that's purely my taste.  Well done!

    Love the "slight" or "partial" reflections - beautiful still life.  I'm with Penny on the last one - just missed the bottom of the reflection.  Really nice lighting.

    I have to agree with everything penny says.  And since she said it, I'm not gonna repeat it.  But I will say the lighting is stellar!  Do you have a strobe or hot light?  Perhaps a mini light studio?  If so, you mind me asking what kind of equipment and cost?  I just got out of a table-top class where we did a lot of what you're posting and I've been wondering about your setup.  I enjoyed the class a lot and wouldn't mind having something small some day.

    WOW, thanks so much for all of the positive comments... some brief answers to the questions posed to me:

             - The Background: no photoshop - just large F-stop and single source light very close to the object, there is also a piece of glass below the objects for the reflection

              - Lighting rig: I am using just one 'Alienbee B400' light covered with a small softbox

              - Negative Space: I purposely put extra negative space on these shots, they were taken with the intent of being sold as stock photography

     

    * I will post again in a day or so, with more veggies as well as a diagram and listing of settings used for the shot...(for anyone who is interested)

    I'm the one who made the comment about your "Copyright" Frame ... I really like these wonderful shots without the frame!! ... Very nice images ... Well Done!! ... There are some wonderful comments above!!
