An Uncommon Group . . . .

The only thing these pictures have in common is that I took them on a recent trip to Montana.

We had record snowfall amounts in the North Cascades this winter, and this is the result of the spring melt (it was raining in addition to the spray and mist, resulting in an almost dreamlike quality - except for the deafening roar of the water)  Snoqualmie_Falls1

This one I should have had for the BLUE challenge - how many shades can you count (aqua counts too) Flathead_Lake  (I know the horizon should be higher or lower, but I couldn't move it without losing shades of blue in the sky or water).

And finally, lots of timber industry in Montana, as you might imagine, and I liked the look of these bundles of fence_posts

Love the falls! I am too tired to count the many blues in that shot of the lake. And I like the bundled posts as well.

I have been to Snoqualmie Falls many times and don't remember that much water - WOW!! ... I know there is a lot of mist and rain - but for my part just a little more contrast would make this a much stronger image for me ... I might also crop out a little of the sky in 'Flathead' - I know you're going for the 'blues' but I just don't think all that blue adds that much ... and it would get that spot on horizon out of the middle of your frame!!  ... 'Fence Posts is very nicely done ... a very interesting image!!

Wonderful, wonderful and cool! the fence posts look like bundles of pencils!!

I thought the fence post looked more like tooth picks.

I agree that the horizon should have been off centered.

I love the falls shot.  Especially how the little bit of weeds is clear and then you see the mist of the falls.

I am soooooo with MrQ about the fence posts looking like tooth picks.  I was thinking it could be an optical illusion shot.  Interesting needless to say

I'm with mr. q on the toothpick thing too.  In fact, I was thinking when I saw it would have been neat to get right in front of them and have nothing showing around them to throw the scale off.

But my favorite is the lake.  The blues are just beautiful!  Being a bit nitpicky, I think I would have liked little more or none of the pier in the shot cause as it is now it's almost like an afterthought and that's what it becomes when you view the picture.  You look at the mountains and then as an afterthought you look at what's in the bottom of the picture.  Just my opinion.  And like i said, I'm being nitpicky.

All very good shots. I like the fence posts best, I like the order of repetition in the frame.

Great set!  I love the falls, like how the grass is so in focus.  The blues are beautiful.  I thought the posts looked like pencils!  :o)

Nice shots. I liked the fence post one the best. Kind of reminds me of giant toothpicks.
