Kate and I have decided to make a bi-annual date of going to the Nashville Zoo on student study day (who needs to study, right?).  From these trips we come back with LOTs of images.  Which means, for the next week (and a half) I'll bring you more images of the friendly animals at the Nashville Zoo.

Starting today with the Gibbons!

Comments, critiques, suggestions are always welcomed.  Plenty more animals to come and these guys will be revisited again in December!

Thanks for looking.

All of these are really great shots! I think I like the second and third 'white handed gibbon' the best. Great composition and contrasts!

Those are some noisy animals. We lived about 3 miles north of the Lion Country Safari fence in Loxahatchee Florida for a few years and the calls from the gibbons and the lions were remarkably well heard that far away. Always knew when it was feeding time at the Safari.

     Nice shots, again.

Oh don't I know it.  The second time we went, after we left and were heading up to the lorikeet place we heard the loudest noise.  When we got to the lorikeets we asked what it was and they told us.  We were amazed those creatures were so loud.  Sounded like a siren going off. (And at the time, the black one had a rubber ducky with it.  Kate and I were joking they took it away from him and that was the cause of the ruckus).

They kind of remind me of my husband's brother....seriously though...despite their somewhat comical appearance, they look smart.
