There I was, doing the most amazing job of washing the dishes when suddenly...there was a big blue flash in the sky, and the lights dipped low, brightened, dipped low again.  In a minute or two they brightened up almost too bright to look at and a radio began playing in a spare room.  It wasn't even turned on.  Then my world went black.  Luckily I knew where my candles were.
Thank goodness I had battery back up that saved my computer. Before the lights went out the tv was buzzing, as was my dvd player but they seem to be okay.  We never did hear what happened except that something blew at the substation.  
Thank goodness it wasn't forty below last night.  It got chilly with no furnace on but not real cold.  That is my story and I'm stickin' to it.
