OK... first off... Someone on here likes to give me a bad time about how I cheat to get close to hummingbirds. Penny, you know who you are ;-) I have a feeling Penny keeps seeing a setup something like THIS as what I'm using. It's not true. The majority of my shots are hand held from about five feet away.

I do have other bird friends in the yard. Two of them are a pair of blue jays. The female is a real kick. She loves peanuts (non salted - in the shell please). She will sit on the phone line over the deck by the kitchen window and bounce up and down on the line to get my attention so I will come out to feed her. I stoop down and set the peanut on the top step of the deck and move my hand about 4" away and she will fly down to the ground, hop up the steps and grab the peanut. So far no luck on getting her to take it out of my hand but I think it will happen. Anyway... FEMALE JAY watching and waiting for her peanut.
