For weeks I've been waiting and watching for a vivid sunset... but saw lots of pastels.  I was getting a bit discouraged when this odd one (it may look familiar, it's another shot from my favorite point on my commute home) caught my eye... with the light beams pointing up, and the shadows pointing down... cool lines and about a quarter mile further down the road what it turned into encouraged me to get back out of the jeep and take another shot:  hot sphere.  And then >poof< it was gone.
