I struggled with what I wanted to say, in pictures and words. Mothers do not become mothers alone. I honor fathers. Whether children have grown in your heart or in your belly I honor you today.
We all fall short. Some of my parents weaknesses have become the beginning of my strengths.
I have fallen short, for those who have loved and parented my children in ways I could not or at times I could not, Thank you.
For all the mother's who's children did not come home, from school, or across the street, from the hospital or from a war - I honor you.
As I was beginning to write this - a veteran's honor song came on - Black Lodge Singers "for those that made it home", my oldest son made it home. I rejoice just as my heart sings out for those who made the ultimate trip home.
We all need to be nurtured.
The faith of a child.
