Maybe I have a lighter side to myself than I realize.  But my loss pictures aren't really that deep.  I tried my hand at them anyway.

Driving down the road with a friend on a gorgeous May day, she said she had a place she would just love for me to photograph.  We arrived, pulled off the road and got out.  I saw what she wanted a picture of.  A hand-crafted swing made by the loving parent for their kids and eventually their grandkids.

Only on this hot day, the lonely swing had lost it's patrons.  It sat there paitently waiting for their return.  Waiting for school to be out and for the day the wood would again bend slightly under the weight of a child swinging and giggling with delight.

But as I photographed it in all its past glory, it was alone.
