Here are additional photos from the Four Corners area. Most of these are from Mesa Verde. During the time we traveled through the area there was a huge wildfire burning in Utah which created a thick haze making photos of Shiprock difficult. Without a Four Wheel Drive vehicle or perhaps a horse, it was impossible to get closer to cut down the haze. I really love the solitude of this area and all the open, undeveloped landscapes. It was quite a shock to drive into the city of Shiprock and be surrounded by McDonalds, KFC and etc.
