I love coming here and posting images. I think it's been about 6 years since I posted here the first time and in that time I've really fallen in love with photography. Now I have a question...I noticed that some of you thought that this picture posted yesterday was created in Photoshop.
I like the photo because of its colors and the composition. I felt like it had some impact and to me, it's a great moment that was captured... not created in a computer.
The problem is that if people see it and think it was put together in photoshop then it loses that impact. It's no longer a real moment but just a computer graphic.
Here are some outtakes from the shoot.
The blur or outline around parts of the dress and her arms is a result of the shutter lag and her movement. The flash freezes the movement but I left the shutter open a little longer to better expose the sky resulting in some blur.
As for the position of her feet... I can't help that. That's where she was really standing.
My question is, should I crop her out in photoshop and move her lower so that she appears to be more realistically on the ground? And, should I remove the blur around parts of her silhouette so that it doesn't look like a bad cutout?
I think it's funny to have to go in and make so many changed to an actual picture so that it appears real but at the same time, it's not really a good picture if it looks fake.
What would you do?
