So, I went back to Valley Forge at sunset - to the same spot, in fact, and took some more shots. The sun was behind the arch, which meant that the skies were spectacular but the arch is utterly underexposed. (I really need to get a lightweight tripod and learn HDR.)
But I did grab one shot that was, literally, golden: sunset2
Jumping back a few days, last Saturday I had three different photo assignments; I took a 30 mile bike ride through rural Pennsylvania to shoot the leaves; I stitched a few together to get this: Leafy_Panorama and I got lucky when I shot this: GoldenLeaves and this: pumpkins
Afterwards, I had to run to where my son was performing in a martial arts exhibition. The main shots were all quite boring, but after it was over and I was laying (exhausted) on the ground, I managed to grab this: MartialArtists
And after that I had to run to the state park, where I had promised to take some photos for my astronomy club. Again, the portraits of the girl scouts and the astronomers were all quite blah, but just before I took them I shot: sunset1 trimaran
I hope you like them!
