I'm crazy about all the elements here but something feels missing--wondering if a different angle might make it pop.

I see why it caught your eye. With the shot as it is right now I would crop off the little edge of trim on the left. But I do believe a different angle woould work better. Either move to the left more and take the shot more from a side angle or better yet move over to the left more and squat down and take the shot upwards. The red just pops and looks great with the other elements of the shot.

I see why is caught your eye ... Not sure another angle would make it any stronger of an image ... A crop across the top just to the trim and a crop down the left side to get rid of the trim along on the left side! ... A nice image ... Well Done!!
