So, I went back to Valley Forge at sunset - to the same spot, in fact, and took some more shots. The sun was behind the arch, which meant that the skies were spectacular but the arch is utterly underexposed. (I really need to get a lightweight tripod and learn HDR.)
But I did grab one shot that was, literally, golden: sunset2
Jumping back a few days, last Saturday I had three different photo assignments; I took a 30 mile bike ride through rural Pennsylvania to shoot the leaves; I stitched a few together to get this: Leafy_Panorama and I got lucky when I shot this: GoldenLeaves and this: pumpkins
Afterwards, I had to run to where my son was performing in a martial arts exhibition. The main shots were all quite boring, but after it was over and I was laying (exhausted) on the ground, I managed to grab this: MartialArtists
And after that I had to run to the state park, where I had promised to take some photos for my astronomy club. Again, the portraits of the girl scouts and the astronomers were all quite blah, but just before I took them I shot: sunset1 trimaran
I hope you like them!

A very nice series. The first one was great for light, color and clarity.

As for the first one WOW! I love it! Fantastic shot all the way around.
The second one is beautiful. I love the reflection and the colors.
Pumpkins is a great one but the green one on the upper left is distracting from the shot. I think it would look fantastic if you crop off the left side.
Martial artists is a fun shot. I love the perspective! :0)
Sunset is very pretty. The stuff in the water on the bottem left is distracting. I was thinking a crop of the bottem and then a crop to right before the sun spot on the right/middle would be really nice. To make the shot more all about the sun and the rays.
The last one has spot on focus. But I would like it better with a straight horizon.

Pumpkin is a fantastic shot except it really could have used some fill flash from the left to get rid of the big shadow.
Trimaran has a lot of potential, but the horizon doesn't work. At all.
Sunset1, the disturbances in the water, the sunspot and the lack of a horizon on the right side is all distracting, but some cropping could drastically improve all of that.

Lovely deer. On the leaf shot, just a tad tighter crop, put the leaves right IN the corner. Except for the bottom of sunset1, it's right on.

I think it's all been covered by the other comments as far as critique goes. XD I actually think Martial Artists is my fave shot as you got the angle, lighting, focus, etc just right. ^^
