Normally, converting to B&W adds a lot of impact to a photo - but in this case, it seems to have made the cat's eyes too dark. Maybe lighten the cat up a bit before converting?
Fantastic job prying the cat from it's background - I have a terrible time doing that sort of thing, it takes me forever.
I agree with Quackers. It seems too dark to me and the Photoshopping makes it lose some depth I think (some of the texture is on top of the fur). Sorry. ^^;
Penny tis good everyone does not like the same thing or it would not be as interesting to see everyones take....I like the color version best and it seems as though the big cat is so connected to the background can't have one w/o the other.

I like them both too, I think the B&W is nice, but might be better with some light added.
