I'm having a great life. Loving life. Loving my wife and son more than I could've imagined possible. And it's reciprocated: receiving their love is the air to my soul, the blood to my veins, the very reason for my exsistance.

We had a great trip to the great outdoors, to get away from the hussle and bustle of the city life. Home is where the heart is, but being in nature for the weekend was a breath of fresh air. A great place for Early Morning Contemplation .

Comments and critques are welcome.

  • Camera: Canon 20D
  • Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)

P.S. Per Candice's request :

 Contemplation Sepia

 Contemplation BW

  • If every married couple could feel that way, and express that (first paragraph) to each other, what a wonderful world indeed . . . . as for 'contemplation', you must have run into a really good-looking guy on your excursion ;)  Well captured, very contemplative!!

I'd love to see this shot in sepia or b/w...did your wife take it?

Fantastic...I really like the b/w...it makes your eyes the focal point....windows to the soul!

I love your tribute, I have a husband and son and your words express how I feel about them. You don't hear such deep words about family that often, thanks for that.

Your portrait is wonderful, I like the 1st one because I can see the early morning light that you described. Your a handsome gentleman as well.

I prefer the b/w also.  I also think "Dazed and Confused" would have been a better title!

Not so glad I'm back now... are ya?

I like the warm tones of the colored shot a lot.  But still think I am swayed to the simplicity of the black and white

I kinda like the b/w the best but would add a little glow to make yourself less of this world.  But a brave thing to show yourself so close up.  Good thing you're not fugly.  Love the sentiment.

  • Fantastic self portrait and I have to say the b&w is a stand-out for me.  I like the color of the light in the original but there's just something really powerful about a b&w portrait such as this one.
