Hello kids, its me again with more pictures (and the dreaded frame).. a friend from work was kind enough to help me and stand in as model this time. Now, I have no confiednce in my photography skills and she is not a fan of herself in pictures... so I turn to you all, looking for opinions on which are better as color; or as a black and white image. They are the same four poses, just one set is color and the next is b&w.. so if you have time, and would like to help... please offer an opinion....as always, thanks in advance for your help...

  • I like 2 best, followed closely by 1.  Normally not a bw fan, but I like these equally in color, because the colors are so muted and subtle, and bw.  In 3 there is too much smile for the pose, which seems like a more meditative, thoughtful pose, IMO.  They are nicely done, lighting and ever-so-slightly soft focus.  Very good session.

  • I like the pose in 4 the best (color), but the cropping doesn't fit the frame.

My pick is 1 in b&w though the colour is pretty good too. 2 is good but I think it looks better when she's looking at the camera. 3 has too much grin as has been said. :D 4 doesn't quite look right, maybe MrQuackers is right about the crop.

  • I'm liking your subject in #3 (both color and B&w)  I often life those without broad smiles the best, but in this case it's the closed-mouth smile that catches me.

#4 with the position in the frame may be a bit too far over, but I think that with the camera a little further away the subject is more appealing than the close up face shots.

I personally like both #4's. All the shots are well composed with good lighting, and contrast.
