I like the first shot better out of the two.  The second shot is overexposed.   In the first one I would have liked to see you come up closer to the bikes and tried to avoid the signs on the left or maybe clone out the building on the right side if possible.  Or the way the shot is at that perspective just clone out the signs and the building.

  • It seams I'm having allot of trouble getting the exposure down, thanks for the hint.  Signs are so numerous on campus I tend not to see them.

  • Another vote for the first one!! ... I'll add one more comment to Penny's ... A little different look would have been to take the shot so the streei is more at an angle in the mage ... maybe right to left instead of almost stright on ... shot number two might be saved by adding a little more contrast ... But what a beautiful place!!

Mr. Q maybe you need to calibrate your monitor.  Have you printed pics then compared them to your colors of your monitor?

  • Just printed/recalibrated and now will see how things turn out.
I'm also trying to shoot in RAW (picture a naked duck?), will see if I can make better adjustments there.

Thanks Stan, this is a beautiful campus.

  • I like the view in the first photo.

I see the exposure issue.  If you have an editing program like photoshop etc, try adjusting the gamma to help over exposed photos.

You mentioned shooting in raw.  If you saw my story for this challenge, I shot the first one (9154) in raw, just to give you an example.
