A couple of night time pictures of one of my favorite restaurants in Steven's Point, WI. Every time I get up North I stop there to eat. The front of the restaurant is a old sleeper car. They have photos on the walls in which there is one that I really like. A photographer was able to capture a grasshopper in flight that was tack sharp and nice composition.

Both of these shots are very well done.  The focus is spot on.  I like the comp of both. You did some great exposure work like Wildman said.  Did you use a tripod or was this hand held with some really steady hands?   I love them both.

  • I like both views however I don't like the star effect (diaphram or ps ?) on the floodlights, just my preference.  I think it is too harsh, and distracts from the soft and smooth neon colors in the other lights.

  • I really like both shots, but I think I like the second better.  Wait, maybe I like the first one.  No, I think it's the second one.  Did I say I really like both shots?  Really great job on both.  Nightshots are some of my favorite type photos.

  • Very nice.  I love the way you've captured the colors of the neon and door lights.  And it's all crystal clear.  Both very attractive.

  • I have to agree with Lori about the star effect on number 2 being a little distracting, but I think the over all comp and exposure really makes up for it.  You did a great job with these night shots.  I really want to do some with my digtial camera but I just haven't taken the time to find something to shoot at night.  Perhaps this weekend since it's fall break.

    You've inspired me :-D

The lights don't bother me; I think the "stars" are subtle enough that they don't distract.  Very good job of shooting at night; you captured the colors perfectly, and the focus is spot on.
