  • I like that last one, rain drops look like stars.
    The first one looks a little grainy.

    Grain (or noise) is usually caused by your ISO setting on digital (or the ASA of your film). Keeping it at ISO 200 maximum (ISO 64 or 100 ideally) and adjusting the exposure rather than ISO is usually best, though I don't take a lot of night shots. ^^;

    Shooting at night does tend to add noise to your images, unless the settings on your camera can be changed to accomodate the night sky.  When I shoot at night, most of the time I have my ISO at 500 or 600, at least.  My aperature, if the lens allows, is set to 2.8.  I have found that to be the best way I can shoot at night, other than going full auto, which is probably what you did in these images.  The good thing about shooting aperature priority, if you can set it low enough, you don't have to use the flash.  I'd suggest a tripod, though.

    Your first two images are too noisy, and have too much camera shake in them (probably from you shooting while riding down the road).  The last one, the flash it a bit too harsh, and the composition is off.  I know you were trying to capture the rain; might have been better to re-compose, getting just the leaves, with the raindrops on them.
