Very definitely a photograph (or four). As noted, the clouds are from a collection of sky shots that I maintain. The day was absolutely gray which made for nice muted colors and not too much contrast, but the sky was just a gray mass in the originals. As for the main subject, I took three exposures (-1,0,+1) and did a HDR with them (hence the artsy look). the next step was the replacement of the sky and a bit of cropping. For the B&W I converted to greyscale and played with brightness/contrast, curves and shadow/midtone/highlights. I also corrected the perspective of the building some and cropped a bit more off of the bottom. For the record, all adjustments were done in Paint Shop Pro X2 (so I can truthfully say that I did not Photoshop the picture!). Because I am fairly happy with the evolution of this photo, here is the mid-exposure of the original series for comparision. BW_original I do love the digital darkroom!

I really appreciate the comments on the amount of resoution as this is an example of knowing the camera you are using and using it within its capabilities. The picture was shot with a 5mp Panasonic FZ20 superzoom at about 35mm equivalent. I sometimes think this camera takes better pictures than my newer 10mp camera.
