Mostly not flowers...

I've been going through some more of my macro shots from October. The first one is a dewy b&w, though I didn't think it was interesting enough to be a good challenge entry really. :P The next is another one of those curious green things, water does interesting things when it gets on those. XD

Lastly some wintery berries, and an extremely tiny flower.

  • So i think the first needs more contrast, but I like it overall.  LOVE the second shot/thumb.  Gorgeous light, focal point, color and comp.  And the tiny flower has some BEAUTIFUL bokeh going on in it.  Great set, paul!

The berries are really nice, I wish there were three though, I don't know why. I believe the curious green things are called Lambs Ear. I like the dew bead on it, very nice.

Thanks guys! Glad you like them. XD I know what you mean about the first enigmatic, but any more contrast and I think the shadows will turn into dark bottomless pits of doom... there's something screwy about the shot though.

Your 1st shot doesn't have a strong enough focal point, the next one is lovely...you can almost "feel" the softness,Angie is right about needing a third berry...for some reason the brain "likes" odd numbers(even when I bead,,,I have to pay attention to the # of focal beads), and your last shot is well done excellent DOF!

  • Your last one does have good bokeh; for some reason the flower does not look in focus....I like the lighting of your 'green thing' and do believe it is Lamb's Ear like Angie said  (tis a very soft leaf)

  • I love how the drop on the curious green thing looks like one of David Bowie's glass orbs. Well done!
