Stop a moment and give thanks for all of your blessings.  Be thankful for family...be thankful for home...  Pause and give thanks to God, for He has done great things!  ...and during this holiday take time to be a blessing to someone around you....  Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Very nice sentiment and a powerful picture. If this shot doesn't make us thankful, I don't know what will. Though she may not be someones mother, she's definately someone who had a mother. Can't help but wonder what went wrong.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

We fight wars costing billions of dollars per month, bail out wall street and the fat cat investment bankers, send billions of dollars in foreign aid every year to countries in need and yet, where is this woman's rescue plan?  Seems we could do more at home for our own.

Powerful picture, Jam.  Makes a person appreciate what they've got.  Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  • Someone's mother? Perhaps, even so she is someone's daughter!!! Who had hopes for her when she was a little girl? Even throughout her life someone watched over her... I would like to think it was her Father in Heaven. This photo does remind us what one year of unemployment could do to any of us. Thank you Jam for the perspective. It surely evokes emotions, and inspires thanksgiving, but more importantly reminds us of our role in society to care for the weak, help the poor and be a blessing to others. Good composition btw.

  • Powerful image . . .and a timely statement we can all take to heart - fresh perspective on what we might think our "troubles" are.

Thanks for the thoughtful reminder of a deeper meaning for Thanksgiving.  I hope all of us are motivated to do what we can for the less fortunate, for no matter how big our individual problems are, there are many others who would gladly trade places with us.  Your photo speaks volumes without need for words.

  • It is easy to look at her and think it could never be you or anyone you know--but the line is much thinner than it seems. Thank you for this reminder of what we have to be thankful for, but also of our responsibility to notice those in need around us.

  • This photo is very thought provoking/soul searching...a person never really knows When this might happen to them or someone close..I can't really see her right arm but would say that she is holding onto the cart in order that someone will not 'dash' by and try to take it away from her..this one is powerful in color and am sure it would also be powerful in b/w..

Hope the day was good for you..
