"Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly."  Langston Hughes

(This bird is an injured bird that was being held in a cage at a local nature center)

Rocky-know what this is? (or anyone else!)

 Injured bird

Thanks for looking!

  • Excellent raptor quality to the shot... draws eye to eye. I would suggest showing more of the bird in the shot which at first glance put me in mind of a golden eagle... but sure it isn't. Ok where are the ornathologists in the crowd?

    - go take some pictures you

  • Digidude-Thanks-I actually did get the whole bird but he was in a cage-I was dealing w/posts, fencing, etc around him and was scared of moving too much as I knew he'd move away from where he was at-so the rest of him sucked is why I just posted his head.

SG-Thanks-knew it was a hawk-just wasnt' too sure which one-I know a lot of birds but don't know my hawks very well...should have asked at the Center :-)

Nice shot, very sharp. And the eye-to-eye angle is neat. Don't get to see them up that close too often.
