Hello Everybody,
I'm pleased present a more refined update to Photographica Mobile. Photographica Mobile is a slimmed down version of Photographica. Whats new?
- It now has it's own RSS feed and handles popup images in a way that works with any phone.
- You can view the comments for each story.
- At this time, slideshows are unsupported.
From your cell phone or iPhone, visit: http://www.photographica.org/mobile
Have fun!

Cory, I have an iPhone and every thing worked fine up to the point of posting a comment ... It would not let me into comment area.
I'm not sure what the difference is between mobile and our normal access .. I access the site from my iPhone all the time.

The hardest part about the mobile thing will be testing. I cannot just say "i'll install *browser* and look" :-).
The idea behind the mobile page is to strip out as much goo as I can so the page isn't as large, thus saving you bandwidth fees. Plus the normal photographica doesn't look as good on really small resolutions like my RAZR.
I will probably change the way popups load in a mobile page as well. After all, there is no "window" that it would pop up into.

Marc, what happens when you try to view the pictures on the blackberry? Does it give any errors, or just plain not do anything?
Vegas, do the slideshows work on the iPhone? The iPhone isn't really the target of the mobile site as it is pretty much a legit browser. I could make the page more narrow by removing the right column--this can be done if the iPhone sucks down mobile stylesheets. Which orientation do you browse this site in: portrait or landscape? Also, my friend has one coupled with an unlimited data plan; is this common with you iPhone people or do you guys usually leech of whoever leaves their wifi access point open?
Can the iPhone upload pictures yet? What about the blackberry? ... one thing I dont want to encourage is cell phone pictures getting posted to this site ;-)

Actually, most cell phones, including the "free*" ones now have a web browser built into them. The only thing between most phones and the web is a cell phone plan that includes data.

I've noticed that the site is really slow in general (internet, not with phone(razor and not going to try)).
But then I can't tell if it's the page or my internet. Everything else i've pulled up today has been normal, but this site is moving like a slug

- So shoot already!!
AMEN, OLD GUY! I may be 22 but I'm with you all the way on that. Went into Verizon yesterday with my brother to look at some new phone he wanted to show me and I was looking at some of the others and couldn't for the life of me figure them out. I'm in no way technically challenged but if my phone is that hard to open or operate, I don't want it as a phone.
Not that this isn't a great feature Cory. You know I love the work you do ;-)

Works great on my iPhone!! ... Will we ever be able to see Slideshows? ... I don't think I would ever comment from my phone ...
I generally browes in landscape mode ...
My wireless plan is with AT&T and for an extra $20 per month I get unlimited internet access ... It's pretty fast too ... I have been know to leech off someone's wi-fi ... now that Starbuck has gone to AT&T no more leeching!!
I think removing the right hand column is a good idea ... anything to simplify browsing!!
